This article explores the ubiguitous computing and the city, interestingly via means of social and cultural perspectives enhancing the invisible and exposing the mundane theories. The primary viewpoints of ubiquitous computing is critically analyised by sociality, spatialization, temporalization and contextual aspects that support it.
‘Calm technology’ is introduced in the article, a term used outside of conscious awareness, a notion that is not completely absent until we actively focus on it. Interestingly, people are not familiar with the present technology that we are surrounded by.
‘Augmented reality’ enhances our impressions of everyday objects in our surroundings, refected upon objects and people in the world. More awareness of reality and ‘virtual reality’ changes the persectives of how we view certain objects and people we encounter.

Some presentations demonstrate a extraordinary level of experiments. Not only uses one Wiimote, but also the Numchuck. One experiment uses a funnel to co-ordinate the limited rotation area. Another uses the interaction of the Wiiremote and Numbchuck strapped on one arm. Spinning the Wiiremote in the air by the strap becomes an intense acceleration of all axis x, y and z.

Justin,
I have a technical problem with vista on laptop. Some of my icons on desktop have turned into Adobe Acrobat File, including some of the pde (processor) files. Is this something to do with the settings on my desktop. The problem is the acceleration and wiigraph files are now adobe acrobat format.

Initially, experimenting with the ‘flock of birds’ and ‘birds’ library parts was stimulating. The idea of the ‘flock of birds’ created an interesting example to begin my research and develop ideas from. In the computer generated experiment, it raised questions concerning the leadership role of the flock and the democratic movement of the birds. After viewing a few examples of utube and vimeo, and some global examples of scientific research of the flock of birds, the role of the leader became the integral part of the big picture.
In hope of demonstrating the idea and successfully connecting to the WiiGraph and WiiRemote, finding the leader from the pack and using that icon as the pickpointer of the processing data is the key driver towards my Assignment 3. The sound, imagery and visual qualities of the processing experiment should all revolove around this idea of the leader. Interestingly, the leader may fall back but redeeem itself again and again. As part of the assignment 3, I would like to successfully demonstrate this idea through the processor using the WiiRemote.

Performance captured by the Darwin remote was a little difficult to grasp, to get a clear handle of 3 directions and the interactions. The nature of the video game was overly reactive for the player and the viewer. The thought process and the visuals were abstract and randomn.

Interacting with Darwin Remote was interesting. It reveals your own human actions and the contrast to others.
